When I was a young mother, there were so few reliable resources I could turn to when I wanted expert advice on parenting a girl, or when I needed a community of other like-minded mothers to talk with about raising a well-adjusted daughter in a culture that seemed set on sabotage. There were books about parenting daughters, but not many authors were yet addressing the sexualization of girls or the stereotypes and sexism creeping into children’s toys, apparel and media. The Internet was in its infancy, so today’s helpful variety of online parenting communities, professional blogs, children’s book and movie websites, and small cyber-businesses that provide healthy media and products for girls were not available to me.
Thank goodness things have changed! Enjoy the resources on this website. They will make your parenting journey easier.
